San Francisco!!

Over the break we went to San Francisco! Since we were a few hours away and I'd never been, we worked out a miracle and figured out how we could get there. It was absolutely amazing- lots of walking (I did really well for the first 7 miles or so, but afterword I got super tired!) We did so much stuff- It was fun. Here's a brief overview of our trip:
The first thing we did after getting off the BART was ride the trolley!

This is the view after we walked UP Lombard St (the crookedest street in the world). Everyone but me and Chris thought I wouldn't be able to do it- but we had fun!
After the walk up Lombard Street, we walked down Hyde Street...
and Chris was happy...
We went to a whole bunch of places like the Ghiredelli Chocolate Factory (no longer actually a factory but a cool place)
and for some reason there was a fountain with a naked mermaid- sweet!
We went to Pier 39 and had some tasty clam chowder and sour dough bread- DELICIOUS! We also had some fresh salmon and some other type of fish.
We then headed over to the Golden Gate Bridge and walked about 1/2 way across. It was really beautiful looking back at the city.
Then we headed back and went to the Civic Center area of town. We had to walk in some "sketchy" areas and, of course, I was scared. I had to go to the bathroom for the billionth time, so we stopped by City Hall and it was a gorgeous building both inside and out.
We then went back to the house we were staying at (thanks Withams!) and got ready for our last day in the city. The rest of the family came down and we went back on Tuesday to celebrate Dave's birthday. I was so tired from the day before I could barely walk. My belly hurt! (I asked the doctor about it today and he said it was normal, something about ligaments stretching...so I'm not worried I'm going about it anymore.)
We did all the family traditions...riding up and down the elevator at the Westin St. Francis Hotel, going to Saks and having an ugle shoe contest, and eating at a great place called Blondie's Pizza- if you are ever in San Francisco you should definitely go there- it's awesome.
We had to get back to the airport, and our fun in the city was over- sad day. I'm so glad Chris and I were able to go there!
