I finally have time to sit down and write a brief update about our lives; ironically I am doing this at school...story to come later.
---We have graduated- It was a crazy weekend with both Chris and my family here. Chris and I walked with his college (turns out my college is enormous and we didn't want to wait for 3 hours to walk across the stage for 20 seconds). It feels wonderful to finally graduate, we're now done with BYU forever!
---We Blessed Nathan- he is a wonderful little boy- I can't describe how much I love him!! He did so great during the blessing. He was awake and was so good. We are so excited to watch him grow and learn.
---I took 7 WEEKS OFF OF WORK!- I can't believe how crazy life was even though I wasn't working. My days were completely full and I feel like I had little to show for myself at the end of the day. When people would ask what I'd done I felt silly answering....
People: So what did you do today?
Me: I woke up, feed Nathan, burped him, changed his diaper, and held him
People: What else did you do?
Me: Nothing
It was wonderful...I can't wait till Friday at 12:00 when I officially become a stay-at-home mom!!
---I went back to work- It was horrible. I cried. I hate it.
It's actually not that bad. Chris and Nathan visit me everyday during my planning period and lunch and I leave right after school is over. Pretty much right now I am just a glorified babysitter. Grades were due last week, we have 2 hours worth of assemblies today, the kids go to Lagoon tomorrow, we have a basketball game on Thursday (out 12:50), and yearbooks and softball game on Friday (out at 11:45)
---Chris became a Stay-at-home dad (sort of)- Because I had to go back to work, we needed someone to watch Nathan while I was gone. Once Chris was done with school, we decided that instead of finding a full-time job for 2 months he would stay with Nathan and just keep his part-time job at the Physical Therapy Clinic on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons. Now we only get a babysitter for Nathan for the few hours when Chris and I are both at work. While he's been at home the "men" have had lots of bonding time (i.e. Chris cleaning Nathan's clothes after he poops all over them...)
---We have an apartment in Houston- with a lot of help from some friends in Houston, we finally settled on a place. We will have 2 bedrooms, a DISH WASHER and a WASHER/DRYER! Chris starts Baylor at the end of June. It's crazy to think that we won't be coming back to Provo for a long time and we'll miss our friends and family, but we're definitely excited for the adventure.
---We got a moving truck- with a lot of skill and talent, we got a UHaul for over $300 cheaper then the rate online. Two words- price matching.
---We went to the Zoo- for Memorial Day we to the Hogle Zoo. It was so much fun, Chris and I hadn't been to the zoo since we were little and even though Nathan had no idea what was going on it was still tons of fun.
---We went to the Dentist- After going to the dentists a few weeks ago this is what we came out with:
*1 cavity (Chris)
*removal of upper and lower retainers (Sarah)
*1 onlay (Chris)
*removal of wisdom teeth within 6 months/year (Sarah)
one word...expensive
---Nathan slept through the night!- One day shy of 8 weeks, Nathan slept through the night for the first time. Naturally when I woke up at 6 I freaked out and ran to go check that he was still breathing (which, of course, he was). It has been a wonderful past couple of days. This is the first time I've slept through the night since I was 3 months pregnant.
