Just as we were leaving home the heavens open and a torrential downpour began...which ruined our plans of sitting out on the lawn for the play, so we hope that the rain would make people leave and we can get two empty seats under the canopy...I brave the rain while Chris parked, and ran to the line of people waiting and just ran for cover..cutting in front of a lot of people, but thankfully no one cared...everyone was worried about the rain :) I get two seats no problem (there were tons of empty seats- yea for people with tickets not showing up!) Just as Chris shows up we hear a man walking around yelling that the show was canceled...lame :( turns out the storm had knocked out the power (hence why the man was yelling...no microphones).
So we turned around and went back home. Sad. We thought about doing something else (I mean...we had a babysitter and everything!) but we couldn't think of anything free to do with the storm...so home we went. It was disappointing not being able to see the play, but it was a great memory. We ended up watching a movie and eating popcorn and laughing about our great date.
Yes, that is how deep the water was...it was crazy but fun!
