This week for preschool I was in charge of teaching the Letter E and the Number 5.
Unfortunately
I'm a habitual procrastinator (this week was so busy the other mom's
thankfully let me switch it to Friday) I didn't really get started till
the morning of. I quickly pulled together a lesson that actually went
really well.
We practiced writing our E's on the window
Put googly eyes onto big letter E's
Made E's out of play-doh (I made a special little mat for them to roll out the play-doh then fill in the letter)
Tried
to find which eggs had 5 m&m's inside. They all got so excited
when they got an egg with 5- poor little Sam was so sad when he opened
his first egg after everyone else had found 4 or 5 to see his only had
1. They sure loved counting when chocolate was involved!
We ate a
snack of E sandwiches and banana eyeballs (banana slice with a
raisin)...so there really isn't much food that starts with an E- eggs,
eggplant, escargot...not very snack time friendly foods...
We then
made elephants by tracing their hands (thumb = trunk, rest of the
fingers = legs...Chris didn't think it looked like an elephant but oh
well, I tried)
The highlight of the day was using our ears to hear the music while we played freeze dance! The boys loved it so much they played for almost 30 minutes!
Phew- preschool is definitely hard but fun. I'm so glad Nathan has such good friends!
