When we went to Mexico- Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

Thursday morning we docked at Cozumel and we had a fun filled, albeit more relaxing, day planned.  We rented a scooter and some snorkel gear from a guy on the street and set off around the island, stopping wherever we wanted. I was too nervous to drive the scooter, especially since our initial starting spot was right in the business street in town, but Chris did a great job and I held on tight and enjoyed the scenery. The island has a road for scooters and bikes that follows the beaches so it was absolutely a perfect way to explore.

Our first stop was to a wonderful little beach- we put on our snorkel gear and set off! It was awesome swimming around, seeing all the fish and creatures all around us, and being in the beautifully calm water.  The weather was absolutely perfect- we could have stayed their a lot longer, but we decided to head out and see what else the island had to offer.

We stopped at one place that said they had free wifi and tried to call the kids, but it turned out that was a lie...and that beach/food shack was a party place and reeked of smoke so we moved on.

The next place we stopped at was on the tip of the island.  The water had changed from the calm, peacefulness of our first stop to bigger crashing waves and rocks.  While we couldn't snorkel the view was breath taking.  I'm so glad we kept going and hadn't stay the first place the whole time.

We found another cool place to stop just a few minutes later.

After a while we decided to continue our trip around the island and got to go through town.  Unfortunately the map and directions we were given was totally confusing, and street signs were less than abundant, but a few wrong turns later we were back to where we started.  We still had a bit of time and decided to quickly go back to the first beach and get in a bit more snorkeling before our day was done.

That night for dinner our waiters put on a little show for us.

Every night they had a "different" food for you to order and this night we got to try the frog legs.

We found out that we had a few dollars credited to our account so we tried to use those to skype with the kids.  Unfortunately the internet wasn't working great and we got to see them but neither of us could hear the other- I ended up in tears.  Seeing them but not actually talking to them was worse then not seeing them at all!

We went to a magic show that night- the guy was quite good and Chris loved it even more because he was from Denmark and spoke Danish during some of the act.  After the show Chris got to speak to him.  We can now make that 5 times he's actually used his Danish with a real Danish person (not just another missionary) since returning from his mission :)

After the show we went on the deck and they were showing the Texans' game, with so many Texan fans on board it was exciting.  Chris was thrilled to be seeing anything sports related after a 3 1/2 day break.

Friday was our last day aboard the ship and we spent it well- a little exercises, lots of food, and tons of lounging on the deck reading.  Seriously my perfect vacation. We were both sad (and a bit happy to see the kids) when we were back in Galveston Saturday morning.  When we finally walked through the door I rushed to the kids to give them the biggest hugs ever and they all ran right passed me to get Chris.

Unfortunately I told her the wrong dates for our trip, so she had to leave to catch her flight about an hour after we got home- I was sad we couldn't spend more time together.  But thank you Mom so much for coming and helping with our kids.  We're so glad they got to spend some amazing quality time with you while we got away for a few days!

We're all sad you're gone!
