Our Alaskan Adventure: Sunday-Monday

WE WENT ON A CRUISE TO ALASKA!!!
if you couldn't tell...we LOVED it! I highly recommend it to everyone.
We met up with my family (minus Mike, Vanessa, and Miriam---we missed you guys!) We left out of Seattle on Sunday the15th and it was a gorgeous day.  Getting to the ship was crazy, there were tons of people, and it seemed we had to show our passports and papers at every other corner, but the wait wasn't that long to get on and once we were on the ship it was great!

Liz really was excited :) I promise

Our rooms weren't quite ready when we first got on, so we got to eat lunch and explore the ship a little before we could get to our rooms (and change out of our church clothes- we left straight from church to the ship).  We started our explorations with a little shuffle board, chess, and...

swinging! Nathan really loves to swing now- he can also count "one, two, three" with you...it's adorable!

We enjoyed talking, laughing, sharing memories, making fun of each other, and just being together since it's been a long time.  That night for dinner we went to a great French restaurant where we got to try all sorts of new things- Chris actually liked the escargot- it could have something to do with it drowning in butter and some crunchy bread topping: :)  Nathan loved my wild mushroom soup and also ate my salmon like there was no tomorrow as well as Chris's delectable filet mignon...yum yum.  I forget what else we had but it was all delicious!
The next day we spent entirely on the boat, so we got to have a lot of fun.  We played on the bed which was possibly Nathan favorite activity all week long.

Nathan loved going up to the sport court and playing basketball and soccer with all the older boys (and he looked real nice in his little track suit!).

We loved looking out at our beautiful surroundings- We never got tired of the view from the ship.

We also stopped by the buffet (more than once) and ate...eating was the theme of this vacation :)

I already forget what we did for dinner that night...but it was great.  Chris then went and saw a musical group called "Oh What A Night" perform...while I promptly fell asleep after putting Nathan to bed.  I woke up when everyone got back and we talked late into the night (another theme of the trip) and went on our first of many nightly hot chocolate runs...yummy! It was a great start to the trip!
