It was supposed to snow/ice 1-2 inches last night. For Houston, this is a BIG deal, so pretty much the entire city shut down (except of course the VA Hospital, so Chris still had to go to work)
Pretty much, we got a little bit of ice, maybe a quarter of an inch outside our apartment door, but when Chris drove to work he said the roads were pretty clear. It was so funny to watch the news last night as everyone was running to the store to "stock up"...you'd think we were going to be snowed in for days!
Yesterday the doctor told me to "lay low" today- he was going down to Galveston for a conference and if the weather was bad they would close the bridge and he would be stuck there, so he said that I was not allowed to go into labor today..so between the ice, laziness, and his suggestion we spent a lovely day at home.
We first played with Play-doh. Nathan asks to play with it all the time- he really loves it. Some of his favorite things to do are making snakes and shapes.
After we cleaned up our play-doh we headed upstairs to put away all the diapers we just got. He loved playing in/on all the boxes. Then we spent way too long jumping off the bed. He's such a good jumper!
Then spent some time reading...and reading and reading and reading! Nathan usually isn't a big fan (which is so incredibly sad) but he likes it more now that we read upstairs on the glider in his room...and his new favorite book is Llama Llama Red Pajama- we read it multiple times every day now.
After that, Nathan's friend Caitlin was supposed to come over and play for a bit, but her dad's class ended up being canceled (due to the "snow"), so instead Nathan and I made some sugar cookies! He loved being able to choose the shapes he wanted and pushing them down. His favorite part was moving them onto the cookie sheet. Chris came home earlier then expected and we were able frost cookies together. Nathan loved putting sprinkles on the cookies and licking his fingers.
Nathan had fun eating them too- except he likes to taste all of them.
Then Nathan helped make dinner- taco soup! We put the pot on the kitchen floor and he got to dump all the ingredients in- he loves helping! He particularly loved his cornbread- yum!
After dinner he had a bath (between cookies, frosting, soup, cornbread and honey he definitely needed one!) He loves bubble baths and "swimming."
Then there was more jumping...only this time with no clothes on...
After playing and running around we said prayers, read books, sang some songs, and put Nathan to bed. We definitely made the most of our "snow day."

Wow, what a great mom!! Talk about having energy...that makes me tired just thinking about all that. Don't worry you didn't miss too much--our body combat class got cancelled!
I'm glad to see Nathan likes play-dough. I'm looking forward to doing art projects with him - sculpting and drawing and painting. That will be good times.
