Picnicking

Yesterday I decided to surprise Chris with a fun family home evening.  He got off work late so as he pulled into the parking lot we were waiting for him in the van- he jumped in and we headed out for a picnic in the park.

We had fun eating our sandwiches and looking at all the animals around us. Nathan loved the squirrel that was crawling up the tree next to us.

For the spiritual part of our family home evening we talked about about all the things that Heavenly Father has made for us-  Nathan came up with some great ideas...
Me: Did God make the trees?
Nathan: Yes!
Me: What else?
Nathan: God make elephants

Me: What else?
Nathan: trees!
Me: What else?
Nathan: Ducks!
Me: What else?
Nathan: flowers!
Me: What else?
Nathan: cookies!

After we ate we headed over to feed the ducks.  Nathan is doing much better at tearing the bread into smaller pieces, but I'm sure some of the ducks were happy when they got a whole piece of bread!

Abby absolutely loved the ducks- she couldn't stop laughing and giggling at them.

It was a great evening and I'm so glad we were able spend time together doing something fun.
