The kids have been so excited for Valentines Day! We started off our morning with a fun surprise- Chris worked it out with the Fellow so he didn't have to round in the morning so we had breakfast together- the kids were amazed that Chris was there to eat breakfast with them!
The kids opened up some cards and presents from us and my parents then we finally got ready for the day. The kids loved the new books, candy and silly putty!
When Chris headed off to worked, I found the card he left for me in the car, and the girls and I dropped Nathan off at preschool, picked up 7 dozen roses, and made a quick trip to Costco and Party City.
Then we brought roses to some women in our ward. Another couple in our ward happened to get 200 roses the night before, and not knowing what to do with them they donated them to the ward, so I was able to help deliver some of them- Abby loved being the flower girl, and I love that my new calling gives me so many opportunities to serve the women in our ward.
After we picked up Nathan I made a special heart themed lunch which the kids thought was pretty cool.
And then after nap time their friend came over while his parents went out. We enjoyed our heart shaped pizza and carrots, and red juice (which they never have so that was a treat!)
For dessert I made a red velvet cake...the kids have never seen a red cake before so they thought it was cool.
After all the kids went to bed, we cleaned the kitchen, watched a little bit of While You Were Sleeping (which Chris fell asleep during!) and then headed to bed.
It was fun however to spend a whole day celebrating how much we love each other!
