The Rodeo is back!

I LOVE the Rodeo!
We hit up the Rodeo for our first of many trips yesterday- gotta love Value Days! We met up with a bunch of friends and the kids had a blast.

We saw tons of farm animals:cows, sheep, pigs, rabbits, chicks, roosters...

-and person in a cow costume which my kids would not go near...

We went to one of the petting zoos:
--which Abby hated at first! Poor girls was terrified, particularly of the deer that would try to eat everything (her hair, clothes...)

They learned about bees and planting seeds,

Met the Borden Cow and her baby

Then we took a walk through the "farm" where they kids learn how agriculture works (farmers raise crops and animals then sell it to the stores so everyone can eat it) then they get to take the "money" they get from selling the goods in their basket and buy a treat.

We then walked over to see the pig races- possibly one of my favorite activities :)
---My biggest problem all day- besides corralling my crazy brood- was probably dealing with the fighting over who got to hold Jacob or Luke's hand on the walk over :) I wish I had gotten a picture of the line of all 6 kids holding hands.

We watched the pig races

then headed over to see the Mutton Bustin'.

We then had to head home since I left our perfectly packed lunch on the kitchen counter and wasn't willing to pay $20 for the kids to eat some hot dogs and french fries :)
