My birthday this year was nice - minus it being fast Sunday and stepping on a still alive coackroach when I woke up. Sticking tradition they decided to wake up extra early that morning. Oh well- we'll try again on Mother's Day.
While Elise took a nap Chris took Nathan and Abby on a walk and they each picked me some flowers- and I'm a sucker for the sweet little flower/weeds those kids find for me. I absolutely love how much they love it.
And while I've already forgotten what I made for dinner dessert was the special part of the day. I usually make a pie or some delicious "yum yum brownies" this year I asked the kids what kind of cake I should have and it came down to a pink (Abby) or rainbow (Nathan) cake with either superman or BYU decorations...so I became the world's coolest mom and made a blue and pink swirled cake and made a bunch of colored frosting and let the kids go to town on the decorating and sprinkles (under Chris's supervision- and boy was that a fun job reeling in their desire for inch high frosting and copious amounts of sprinkles!) but they had so much fun and didn't complain at all- what a perfect birthday present.
Thanks to all who helped make my birthday fun- especially Chris who tries so hard to make birthdays special!
