She's 1!

I can't believe our little baby is already 1 year old!

Here's what Elise up to now:

-she LOVES to be held. In fact she spends most of her awake time being held or crying to be held.
-she is a mama's girl.  She definitely prefers me to Chris!
-the dishwasher is her new favorite toy, playing with the utensils is clearly her favorite activity
-she loves pizza, watermelon, quesadillas, yogurt, oranges, ice cream, Pirate's Booty, and gold fish.
-she absolutely does not like drinking from a sippy cup.  She is really struggling with phasing out her bottles.
-She can take a few steps but still prefers crawling
-She only takes 1 nap a day (at the same time as Nathan and Abby) but occasionally slips in a small cat nap in the morning if we're driving around in the car.
-has 6 teeth: 4 on top and 2 on the bottom
-loves reading books, coloring, and playing with cars
-can say peek a boo ("pek boo"), mama, dadda, Nathan ("Nayay"), right there ("ri dere"), ruff ruff ("ra ra", answering what a dog says), and more ("ma")
-loves watching TV
-is super bossy, and already fights Abby for toys
-loves bath time
-can climb up things (stairs, beds, bunk bed ladder) but doesn't know how to get down
-has crazy hair; it's super thin but sticks straight up.  We're working on taming it but it's been a difficult task
-she has an amazing frowning face that makes me smile it;'s just so cute

-loves her pacifier
-loves to play on the trampoline with Nathan and Abby
- is a bit of a bully around kids her age or younger
-loves to cuddle
-is super ticklish

Elise is really an amazing addition to our family- we love her so much and can't imagine our lives without her.  She is growing and learning so much and I love it. While sometimes she makes us angry and frustrated I wouldn't trade this past year for the world as she had brought so much love, happiness, and joy into our home.  I have always been honest, and plan on being very honest with her when she's older, and let her know that while her birth was not one we planned it was exactly was our family needed. I am so grateful that she came to our family when she did and for a loving Heavenly Father who has a better plan for us then we do for ourselves. If we had been following our time table she would have just barely been born and I can't imagine going through this last year without her. I've said it before on this blog, but with Nathan and Abby I had a confirmation that they were supposed to be in our family before we got pregnant, but with Elise is came slowly after we found out she was coming, and the day she was born I was completely overwhelmed the the feeling that she was supposed to be here right now.  I will treasure that moment when I held her for the first time and knew that she was so special and couldn't wait any longer to come be a part of our family.

We love her so much and are so excited to get to know her throughout this next year. Happy Birthday Elise!
