Chris loves going to the air show and was so excited to go this since we missed last year. It wasn't as hot as it has been so that was great. Bummer was that I forgot our chairs at home, and that because of the government shutdown the cool military planes weren't there...lame.
But we still had lots of fun and the kids and Chris had a such a blast seeing all the airplanes.
Our first stop was part of some space exploration craft. No clue what it was or when it went up or anything, but it was cool.
I thought the Coast Guard Helicopter was really neat. The kids were even "rescued"
Elise was not a fan.
But Nathan and Abby could have flown that helicopter for hours.
Saw some more planes and and other military stuff
Nathan loved seeing a video about the "Red Tails" (Tuskegee Airmen) and seeing one of the restored Red Tail Airplanes.
We sat down and ate lunch (lame having no chairs- Texas grass is not soft and comfy) and watched the all the planes fly by.
Nathan (and Chris!) was is boy heaven
The kids played games from the new movie Planes
And we walked around some more and found the WWII German Camp re-enactors and other military vehicles
and then watch some more planes and war reenactments before heading home.
Chris is already planning the excursion for next year- hopefully the government will have it's act together and we can see some more fun planes instead of just empty roped off spots and signs about what was supposed to be there...
