Nathan is 2!
It's weird to think my little baby is now a big boy, but it sure is fun to watch him grow.
We began our celebrations on Saturday, we had a little party with a few of his friends at a fun little park. Nathan had way too much fun running around with all his friends and enjoying some time outside. He was too busy playing to really care about the cake; I was just glad he was having tons of fun. He was so excited all Friday and Saturday morning for his "birtday", "fends" (friends)", and "potty" (party).
Because of Nathan's allergies I made him a cake and everyone else cupcakes...Nathan could have cared less but I thought they were cool.
Unfortunately I didn't get many pictures, but we had a great time.
Sunday (his birthday) started off low key. He had fun telling everyone it was his "birtday". After his nap he woke up to his birthday surprise...we blew up a whole bunch of balloons and got all his presents out. He got some great presents- thanks Grandmas and Grandpas! We're excited to play with all the new toys.
After presents we had dinner with Nathan's favorite people- his 3 friends Avery, Jace, and Conner. The boys are 2 years older and he idolizes them, and Avery is his age and they are just hilarious together- we've already determined they're going to get married :)
The kids played while us adults talked and played the wii- turns out I'm really bad - guess we should get one to practice :) My favorite part was the end of the night when Nathan started to get a little too tired. We sang him happy birthday and he blew out a candle (stuck inside a roll!). He was super ecstatic for a moment then started bawling and moaning "birtday, birtday", so we sang again and he was once again happy, until we finished and he started screaming "birtday, birtday" again. Poor kid just didn't want the day to end.
We just went to the doctor today for his two year check-up. Other than the intestinal issues he's doing really well. His vocabulary is taking off and he's learning new things every day. He can make me more frustrated than anyone I know but he melts my heart faster than anyone as well. The best moments of my day are when we laugh together, have tickle fights, and when he tells me "wuv you."
He's pure crazy, but we love him.
