Somedays we kind of rock at this whole parenting thing

One of our goals last year was to be more consistent with our Family Home Evenings.  This year, one of my goals was to make them more spiritual, fun, exciting, and planned out.
Tonight we did awesome.
We have a felt Book of Mormon stories book, so we went over the story of Ammon.  Nathan really likes moving the pictures around and thinks the story is pretty cool.  Then for our activity we got some some "swords" and Nathan pretended to be Ammon and protect the sheep (all his stuffed animals) from the bad guys (me and Chris).  He loved cutting off our arms (just like Ammon) and taking his turn at being the bad guy.
It went over so well he didn't really want to eat dessert (his favorite- brownies and ice cream), he just wanted to keep playing.
Abby was completely fine with Nathan not eating his food and ate her own brownie, my ice cream, and finished Nathan's off as well.
She couldn't even wait till she was buckled in- this girl sure loves her food

happiness :)

Nathan was happy too...

but mostly because he brought his sword with him!

...and he cut off the bad guy's arm

it was a good night!
