After a quick trip to the gym we got to hang out together and just have fun. For lunch I thought it would be fun to have everything heart shaped- we made heart-shaped sandwiches, heart-shaped apple slices, heart-shaped strawberries, and heart-shaped cheese.
Nathan loved it.
But poor Abby just couldn't stay awake long enough to enjoy it- she fell asleep on Chris's shoulders as I was finishing up the food. We even tried to wake her up and get her to eat but it was just too hard...she was so cute!
While the kids were sleeping I got to go deliver some valentines to some of the young women in our ward- the girls are awesome! When the kids woke up I came back home, we packed them up and headed out to deliver a few more valentines...long story short but at our last house we are about 99.9% sure we were caught in the middle of a drug deal- I freaked out, Chris remained calm and got us out of the situation while I cried. Good times in Houston! Anyone want to come visit? :)
Driving around all over our huge ward pushed back our special Valentine's dinner, but with some slight modifications and amazing speed (and 2 kids who were completely cooperative!) we got a steak dinner with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and corn on the cob, with sparking cider (or as Nathan calls it "special juice") on the table in under 20 minutes...amazing!
Nathan even found the time to pick me flowers while waiting for dinner :)
We had a great day- I honestly don't think we had a real tantrum either- our kids were wonderful all day...now that's a Valentine's day gift!
Happy Valentines Day!
and happy birthday Becky---I can't believe my baby sister is 18!
