Selfish Saturday

With Chris working super long hours the past month as well as our quick vacation to Las Vegas last weekend and the 4th of July not being very restful and relaxing we were in need of a break.  Chris has had no free time for weeks- between work during the week and helping people on the weekends we've had lack of Chris in our lives...and our weekend was already filling up with things he should be doing...so I asked him if we could be selfish and keep him all to ourselves for one day...
He agreed and it couldn't have been nicer.

Chris got to sleep in for the first time in ages (till 8:00! I know...still kind of lame) and then Nathan and Abby were in heaven as they spend the morning just playing with dad- poor kids are so dad deprived sometimes.  We then went to Costco and ate delicious samples and got lunch...yummy Costco pizza!

After we all took naps we headed down to the splash pad (only to find out that the water part was closed for maintenance....bummer) but the kids still had tons of fun playing with Chris on the playground.

We met up with some friends for dinner at a BBQ restaurant and called it a night.

It was great to have Chris for one day- no work, no meetings, no helping other people do stuff, just family time. While it's awesome that Chris is the greatest guy ever and is always helping others do stuff and works hard to support our family it's nice to know that he understood that we need him too- I'm so lucky to be married to such a great guy!
