That's right folks...preschool was at our house again!
The kids loved the letter D...what could be more fun?
We made dinosaurs
practiced making dots
I tried to pick out some fun books- "Go Dog Go", "Make Way for Ducklings", and the big winner of the day- "Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs!" Sandra Boynton books are some our all-time favorites!
We "frosted" donuts (with glue and food coloring) then ate some too!
We played a few "D" games like Duck Duck Goose, and then a fun animal game where they pretended to be the animal I called out...ducks, dogs, dolphin, donkey, dinosaur- it was funny to watch.
We then worked on sorting different size dogs, determining if they were small, medium, or large. We then used the dogs to make patterns and see if the kids could determine what would come next. I've never really done this with Nathan and I was so surprised to see him rock the whole pattern concept!
We then practiced some writing skills. The kids loved following the dots to connect the dog to the ball- they honestly worked on it for about 15 minutes, they each loved connecting all the lines and then wiping it off. They kept chanting "line, line, line..." and yelling "I'm done!" over and over.
With the few minutes we had left the kids played freeze dance- if you've never played with kids before do it right now- it's hilarious.
When it was all over and his friends had gone home Nathan said to me, "Mom, where was Jackson? There were too many girls today."
That kid cracks me up.

So fun, what great ideas! I'm hosting preschool at our house this month as well. Hey do you know where you guys got those cool plastic pockets that the kids were using the dry erase markers on? I think we need some of those. Just wondering!
haha awww I'm glad Jackson was missed! We miss you guys too! I told Jackson about the birthday party he is having on Saturday and he really wants Nathan to be there so you might have to fly out here :)
