6 Weeks Down

At 6 weeks Elise:
-is smiling and I love it!!! I'm counting October 2 as the date of her first real smile.  It is so precious and wonderful.  I absolutely love it when my kids start smiling!
-has a great night schedule.  She falls asleep around 8:30, wakes up between 1 and 2 (as late as 3:30!) and then eats again around 6 or 7 (sometimes 8!).  I really can't complain about our night time routine.
-is a crier.  We've never really experienced this with the other two kids, so it's been difficult - once she starts crying there is usually nothing we can do to stop it.  The past few days have been slightly better, but we're working on helping her and developing more patience.
-is getting so big- I can't believe how much chunkier she's getting. I love the rolls (and cheeks!) she's acquiring!
-loves making eye contact, it's so sweet to have her actually look at you, not right passed you.
-loves to be swaddled when she's sleeping, and now only occasionally wiggles her arms free.
-has taken being attacked by an overly intense big sister quite well- Abby just loves her a bit too much.  Elise is going to have to be one tough cookie to survive Abby's love.
-just wants to be held. Her preferred place to be is in anyone's arms.  She's not picky about who is holding her...just don't put her down. It's a bit difficult to make dinner like this but it's so super sweet to cuddle with her.
