I can't believe he's old enough but Nathan started Pre-K! He has been looking forward to going to his "big school" for such a long time. I spent a long time trying to decide whether or not to send him- I knew he would love it but i definitely was not a fan of how much it costs. The application process was insane- i started researching schools a year ago. I picked the school and got him on the 1st waiting list in November which gave me first dibs to sign up for the actual waiting list in February. We were even the first ones on the list and didn't get in at first. I tell you schools here in Houston are ridiculous. Not excited to think about where to send him for kindergarten (I still have 2 more months!) Thankfully one girl ended up moving a few months later and he was in!
As time started to get closer for him to start I decided that i could teach him everything he needed to know and I'd home school for the rest of his life...but alas that thought really only lasted a few moments before reality set back in. He's only going 3 days a week (I was sad I couldn't find a good Pre-K program that only did twice a week) but I think it will be a great transition year to get him ready for all day kindergarten next year.
He did so good his first day. He had his lunch, back pack, water bottle, sleeping pad and was ready to go!
There were no tears by him or me, just Abby when she realized she wasn't staying with him. Poor girl is stuck with me for another 2 years.
When I picked him up he was full of things to say about his day. He loves his teachers and is having so much fun already. He's learning so many fun an interesting things and I'm so glad he's going there. He loves library day, earning tickets for prizes, and his new friends. I'm so happy he's happy there and can't wait to see what all he'll learn throughout the year.
