Thanksgiving , Liz, and Grandma!

So what's better then having an awesome sister? How about having an awesome sister come visit you?!?! I was so excited my little sister Liz could come hang out with us for a few days and visit the great state of Texas.

Her first morning here we headed up to the Temple together.  As always it was awesome- this was our second time going together and she was able to check another temple off her list of ones to visit. Awesome.

We spent the rest of our time like this...

or this...

let's just say the kids were pretty happy she was here.

When I asked her where she wanted to go eat that first night she said she'd heard of this place called Chuy's from her Texas friends...which was perfect since that's where I wanted to go anyways :)

The next day was Thanksgiving- we spent some time at the park with the kids while Chris got his annual football playing in.  Then it was turkey time! It was nice to have the extra help getting stuff ready...and she did all the dishes and is completely welcome to come back any time.

Our turkey cooked in record time (I prepped it then it cooked at our neighbors house since our oven is so dang tiny and finicky) and a bunch of our friends headed over to celebrate with us. Due to our crazy oven I almost messed up a few sides but with some by carefully picking got some burned parts we were good to go!
Chris is glad Weston was off work or else dinner would have looked like Chris and his 6 sister wives!

The kids hardly ate a thing they had so much fun

And Elise went to town on a bowl of whipped cream. That girl has good taste.

We rushed through dessert (which is a travesty really) in order to go see the fireworks! It was so fun and thanks to our veteran firework watchers we were in an out so quickly- it is definitely our new Thanksgiving Day tradition!

After getting the kids to bed we finished the night with more pie and talking- basically the perfect evening.

The next morning we started off with a competitive game of volleyball with friends- (thanks Liz for rocking the intramural teams and helping us to victory!) We decorate for Christmas and then went and picked up my mom from the airport!!! We headed to another one of our favorite restaurants, Torchy's Tacos, and introduced the family to some amazing tacos.  Then headed to the Chocolate Bar for finish off the night (not that we didn't have a ton of pie left at home still...)

The next morning Liz had to fly back to school- we were so glad she was able to come visit! But my mom stayed for another week so Cgris and I could....GO ON A CRUISE!!! Between our anniversary, Liz, Thanksgiving, Mom, Cruise these two week were just plain awesome.
