Why is Father's Day so much better than Mother's Day?

Our Father's Day this year was quite nice.
We woke up nice and early and had some great french toast.  Yum yum.
Nathan then insisted we do presents right after breakfast.  He did such a great job keeping the presents a secret- I was so proud- but I don't think he could contain it any longer!
So the kids helped Chris open up his presents
(so maybe I forgot about Father's Day and on Saturday I rushed around to get presents because I felt like a horrible wife/mother...whoops)

He got some Root Beer (it says- "You're an A&Wsome Dad!"), don't worry- we've already enjoyed a root beer float :)

and a candy jar for work to help get him through the long stretches of tedious paper work.
The kids were a big fan of the candy jar...

We headed off to church, had a great time, came home (Chris had a short meeting) so by the time he was done the kids had already eaten lunch and were ready for nap.  So after some quality Dad time they went to bed.  I guess it's only fair that on Father's Day he didn't have to deal with the craziness that is lunch time in our house :)

After naps for everyone dinner was next.  And boy I must love Chris cause I made ribs!

It was my first ever attempt and I did pretty well.  Such a man meal- ribs, corn on the cob, and mashed potatoes.  I threw in some watermelon and a greek salad for the kids and me- I knew Chris was going to go to town on the ribs anyways, no need for too many sides :)
no need for clothes either.  ribs + kids = nasty mess

We talked with family, ate some delicious dessert, and called it a night! The kids even liked the cake (they honestly aren't big cake eaters)...amazing what happens when it has "special frosting" aka real whipped cream :)

What a great day- no problems, no issues...seriously we need to teach our kids to behave like that on Mother's Day too- it's just not fair!

But we love Chris! He is such a great husband and father.  I can not imagine life without him.  He loves our kids and boy do they ever love him; he is their favorite person in the whole world.  I love watching their eyes light up and see them run to him when he comes home from work.  In the morning he's who they want to see.  He is truly a great dad. He is such a dedicated father, he loves to play and laugh with the kids.  It makes me smile to know what Tuesday nights (when I'm at Mutual) it's "stay up late night with Dad." When I come home I get a run down of all the crazy fun things they did while I was gone and I love it. He works so hard and I am so proud of all he has accomplished.
