4 Months

On Christmas Eve our sweet Elise turned 4 months old and today I brought her in for her check-up.  She has changed so much in the last month- even with two other kids it still amazes me how much she's learning and growing.

4 Month Stats:
Height- 24 3/4 in  75%
Weight- 14 lbs   60%
Head- 16 1/2 in   75%

At 4 months Elise:

-Is the smiliest baby we've had.  All it takes for her to give you a huge grin is for you to smile at her.  Her smile is huge, her eyes and nose crinkle- it melts my heart every time.

-She loves her pacifier-a little too much-she needs it to sleep.  We are working on helping her fall back asleep when she wakes up at night without the pacifier.  It's a slow process.  She doesn't cry, she just lays there and talks till you come in a pop the pacifier back in. Really it's not that bad, she wakes up once (sometimes twice), but it would be a lot nicer if she didn't need the pacifier put back in.
-She is eating solid food (as of Tuesday!) and I think she like it, or she just really loves to suck on the spoon, we're not quite sure which.
-She loves her hands.  She could suck on them, chew them, bite them, anything- she just loves them.
-Nathan and Abby love her so much.  She lights up when they talk to her.  She gets so many kisses and hugs from them.

-She loves toys.  She reaches, grabs, and eats everything she can get her hands on. She especially loves books.
-She still loves to be swaddled to sleep.  I feel like she should be starting to outgrow this by now, but she's just so happy and cute all bundled up.
-She is super ticklish. She has a loud, happy laugh that makes anyone around her smile.
-She is probably our most observant baby.  She is usually quite happy to watch what's going on around her (as long as she's being held).

-She is a great napper- sometimes.  Sometimes she takes 4 naps a day, other days she takes 3, and some days takes as little as 2. It's weird to have her be so little yet stay awake for so long, but she's happy and just doesn't want to sleep, so I'm learning how to be a more flexible mother and go with the flow.
-She is now partially formula feed and loving it.  At the end of December we noticed she was super irritable whenever she ate and wasn't sleeping well.  We decided at the beginning of this month to give her a bottle after she ate, much to our surprise she downed 4 ounces. She now drinks and extra 12-16 ounces a day of formula and is so much happier! Sometimes I think that since she's our 3rd child we know what we're doing, but after starving my poor child for weeks I'm convinced that I know absolutely nothing.
-She loves to stick out her tongue and blow bubbles.  It's cute.
We love this girl so much and are so happy she's in our family!

She is so precious! It's so weird to see all these pictures and then realize I haven't seen your kids in so long! You are such a great mom, keep it up!
