Mmm Mmm

With Christmas over it's time to get back in the swing of things and Nathan was so excited to start preschool up again.  Today I taught about the letter M.

We made marshmallow M's, and the kids ate so many- there was no stopping them, all of them were eating them out of the bowl except for Abby, she insisted on eating them after she put the on the paper...and the glue. gross.

We colored a monkey and made a monkey puppet,

Then the kids had a blast singing "5 Little Monkey's Swinging on the Tree".  I was the alligator and would snap their puppet- wholly cow did they think that was the funniest think ever.

I got too lazy to go to the library, so instead of reading "If you Give a Moose a Muffin" I found a video of someone reading it on youtube- best website ever! The kids thought it was so cool to read a book on the TV.

We then did some work with muffins- sorting by size, making patterns, then counting work

But they were too antsy to do that for too long because they knew real muffins were coming!
They loved the muffins and milk.  yummy.

We then did a super cool activity.  Did you know if you put M&Ms in water the outer shell dissolves and turns the water a vibrant color leaving the chocolate whole and un-melted at the bottom of the cup? Too cool.  So after we had fun sorting all the colors we painted with our M&Ms.  (Abby ate more than she sorted, but all the other kids did a great job sorting and not eating which quite impressed me)

The last thing we got to do was practicing our writing and penmanship skills.  I can already tell that the kids have improved so much since September.

While it was fun for Nathan and Abby to learn, I think the best part was seeing how happy the kids were to see each other after being apart for almost a month- I love that my kids have great friends!
And Elise was amazing the whole time.  Love that girl.
