Anyways...we went to the RODEO! Even though Nathan was still a little under the weather, we decided that we couldn't pass up the opportunity to go, so on Wednesday we made our way over. It was so much fun! I've never been to a rodeo (I don't think the tiny one I went to in Lyman, WY really counts as a rodeo).
The best part was the food...
Just a man, a boy and some delicious funnel cake
(Chris had never had one before so this was a must)
deep fried Snickers anyone?
deep fried Snickers anyone?
yum yum. Next year I want to try the deep friend oreos.
It sounds weird but imagine the melted chocolate goodness just oozing out of a crispy deep friend coating...and it's all gooey and delectable.
We spent some time at the petting zoo. Nathan wasn't really a big fan of the animals, but it was cool to see baby deer, a donkey, pigs, goats, a llama, and even a baby kangaroo!
Another great part of the rodeo is all the classy people who attend. Can you believe this is real hair?
We also had fun checking out the livestock
especially this bad boy
Everything bigger in Texas :)
Nathan really enjoyed discovering that he can now climb up the front of the stroller

grrreat...as if wasn't already hard enough to keep this kid from killing himself.
Good thing he's so cute
no really...he's adorable

We then took Nathan home, got him to bed, and (thanks to Emily babysitting!) we headed back to catch the rodeo and concert
we watched the
Chuck wagon racing and saw one guy ride with 3 wheels...it was cool
Calf Scramble (a bunch of teenagers chasing cows)
Mutton Busting (adorable)
Barrel racing (intense)

We then watched Gary Allen perform...the stage was cool- it turned so everyone could see him but you could also see through the back
'

It was a great night (besides all the nasty smokers, alcoholics, and "loose" women- the rodeo seems to bring out the best people)
We had so much fun and we're already looking forward to going again!
