Austin-Day 2

Thursday morning we were able to take it a little slower...Nathan didn't wake up till 8:10! Hallelujah! That was the longest we've slept in an a long time. We ate our delicious breakfast of bagels, yogurt and bananas in the hotel room; Nathan played with the bed, the chair, the mirrors, the air conditioner, and the bed remote (it was a sleep number bed...fancy fancy-he thought it was a phone and kept saying "hi" into it).

After his first nap, we headed to the Capitol Building which was really cool- it's the tallest capitol building in the US.

The best part was seeing Nathan explore and climb.

We then drove up to the University of Texas- the campus was really pretty and the area of town looked pretty cool.  We then went and ate a late lunch at the LBJ Presidential Library while Nathan ran around the plaza. He mostly enjoyed looking at his reflection.  After Chris was accused of being a terrorist by a security guard, we went inside the library and enjoyed looking around.  Nathan had a blast waving hello to everyone he saw...which was pretty cute.

We then decided that it was probably time to go home, so we got in the car and headed back to Houston.  We decided to stop for dinner in a small town where our options were McDonalds, Sonic, Jack in the Box, and Whataburger...I had never been to Jack in the Box so Chris decided we should go there.  As we're driving in Chris says, "2 Tacos for 99 cents!" (I assume this means he wants the tacos....) Inside we start to order and Chris didn't order the tacos, so being the wonderful wife that I am I order the tacos.  bad idea.  They were probably the greasiest things ever. Oh well, live and learn.

Right after dinner we got gas and Nathan decided to have a diaper explosion, so we were at a nasty gas station and had to change Nathan's whole outfit...it was pretty funny.  It got everywhere...on the car seat, in the buckle...so that was a fun ending to our trip :) After that we finished the drive, Nathan fell asleep and we made it home.  It was a great trip and we were so glad that we were able go and take a vacation together!
