This Mother's Day was wonderful- we were able to spend a lot of time together as a family, which was what I asked for. We are right in the middle of finals for Chris so he has been studying nonstop, so we haven't spent much time together. Chris felt bad, but because he was studying so much he wasn't able to do much for Mother's Day, so on Sunday he was completely devoted to us, no school allowed. We started the day with an amazing breakfast- creme brulee french toast (Chris's mission president's wife made it on his mission and he was so sweet to email her and get the recipe...it was really easy to make and so good!)- we made it the night before and popped it in the oven...great for 9:00 church. After church we all took naps- it was wonderful...it made me remember how much I love naps! We were able to spend the whole afternoon just talking together and playing with Nathan- it was so much fun to relax and enjoy some much needed family time. We then finished getting dinner ready. When the missionary dinner sign-up was being passed around in church last month we noticed that there was one Sunday left open...perfect right? Turns out everyone remembered it was Mothers Day but us...oh well, it was good to have them over. In order to make the day easier and more fun I had dinner mostly ready to go on Saturday- brisket, mashed potatoes, fresh green beans, roasted carrots and a salad...yum yum. To top it off we had the best cheesecake I've ever made, it turned out perfect. The missionaries were then able to call their families at our house while we talked to ours. We then planned out what we want to do on our CRUISE TO ALASKA THIS SUMMER!!!! We're pretty excited :) We then went to bed nice and early so Chris could get up at 4:30 to study...poor Chris...
It was a wonderful day- I am so grateful that I was able to spend the whole day with my two favorite boys- I am so glad that I am a mother, it is the best job in the world. I'm so glad that I have a husband who understands and loves me, and the best son who makes me laugh and smile constantly.
