Fun Friday

Friday was a great day- we didn't do anything way exciting or special, but we filled our day with fun things.

Chris didn't have to leave for work till after 9, so we spent the morning playing as a family...Nathan loves having Chris home...he is sad every time he leaves, so it was great having some extra time.
Nathan and I couldn't go to the YWCA today, so we headed over to our apartment complex's gym and I tried to work out while Nathan just played.  I thought it was a great idea and brought toys for him to play with, but it turned out to be one of my most unproductive workouts ever...oh well...we had fun playing together.
On our way home we ran into some friends headed to the pool...what a great idea! So we got home, changed, and made our way over to go swimming.  Nathan had so much fun! It has been a while since we've gone swimming (is it lame to say that it's been too hot? that is my pathetic excuse because I'm so lazy) and he had a blast splashing, running around, and playing in the fountain. We stayed for a long time, came home, and  ate lunch. Nathan took a nap, and then Chris came home early! (yeah for the doctor playing tennis!)
When Nathan woke up he and Chris had a father-son adventure and went to the Children's Museum while I had a YW Presidency meeting (very productive one too).  They came home and we had apple cinnamon pancakes for dinner (delicious!).
We then made some play dough and let Nathan have fun.  It was our first play dough experience and what started as a somewhat questionable activity turned out to be fabulous! He love squishing it between his fingers.

After Nathan went to bed Chris and I played a rousing game of SkipBo (great game by the way) and headed to bed early.
I love how a regular ordinary day can turn out to be great when we have fun.
