Chris is good...
I am not...but look at that concentration! Just beautiful.
We then docked in Juneau and the whole family headed out for our first excursion- whale watching!
We took a bus to a smaller boat for our whale watching adventure. It was a little chilly, but Nathan looked adorable with all his jackets. There was free hot chocolate and donuts on our 3 hour tour, so it was quite enjoyable :)
We saw seals on the buoy (Nathan called them dogs)
Glaciers
and humpback whales!
It was so cool to see so many whales. We were able to get pretty close and it was fascinating! I didn't think that Nathan would like it but, like everyone else, he just stared and pointed at them.
We also saw killer whales! They haven't seen them for a while so we were so lucky to see a whole pod of them, including a little baby!
It was such an amazing experience to see all the animals- I thought the 3 hours might be a little long (especially with Nathan) but it went so fast! In no time at all we were heading back to the dock. I'm so glad Nathan loved it, it was fun seeing things for myself, but any parent can tell you it's so much better when your child loves it too.
After the whale watching we headed over the the Mendenhall Glacier. It was raining pretty heavily and I forgot our umbrellas, so we weren't able to walk out closer, but it was cool seeing it close up.
We had such a great time- Juneau was wonderful!
