Under the Boardwalk

On Saturday we packed up the car and the kids and headed down to the Kemah Boardwalk.  It is a fun little boardwalk with rides and lots of little things to do.

Nathan loved looking at the boats and the fish
playing in the aquarium, and riding some of the rides!

We splurged and went on 2 rides- I took Nathan on the airplane ride; he took his pilot job very seriously and I don't think he smiled he just kept talking about flying the whole time...too cute.

We then went on the Ferris Wheel as a family.  It was fun- it has been a long time since we'd each been on one.  Nathan loved being able to see everything.

Before we left we headed over to the water fountains and let Nathan run around.

To top off our trip, we headed over to T-Bone Tom's.  It is a little restaurant featured on the show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.  Our friends told us about it and after checking out the video from the show Chris determined that eating there was a must! We loved the Armadillo eggs- meat stuffed inside a jalapeno then deep friend.  YUM! We then had some good BBQ and headed home.

We realized that both kids were sleeping, and since Kemah is only about 45 minutes away that wouldn't be long enough of a nap, so we made an extra stop and drove to the Beer Can House...yep- an entire house covered and decorated with beer cans drank by one man- it sure was a sight to see!
We loved spending the day together!

YUM! T-Bone Tom's is amazing! I think it would classify as the best BBQ I've ever had :)
