...was one of those days...
One of our biggest problems with Nathan was that he refused to drink from a bottle. It was horrible. We vowed Abby would be different- too bad she's not.
So today I finally buckled down on my "lets-get-Abby-to-drink-from-a-bottle" plan which made for one really long, really frustrating day. For each of her feedings I would put 1 oz (only 1 oz...that's hardly anything!) in a bottle and have her drink it. After about 1 HOUR OR MORE of her screaming the entire time she finally gets it all down. Then I have to really feed her...awful awful awful.
Then I repeat this 4 times.
We couldn't go grocery shopping, couldn't go to the pool...couldn't do anything when she takes an hour and a half to eat. I was so frustrated I yelled at Nathan and made him cry. He didn't even do anything really wrong---Mother of the Year Award here I come!
To top it all off Chris is on night call at Ben Taub Hospital...after working all day at the VA Hospital. Which means he's didn't come home today---which put Nathan into tears when he realized dad wasn't coming.
And we are going to repeat this for the next 2 days.
Thankfully Nathan was pretty good today- he even picked out dinner all on his own.
Mickey Mouse chicken nuggets (they have no milk products in them- thank you Costco!), peas, corn, and watermelon. Some of his favorite foods. I was afraid when I asked him what he wanted he would say "Tiger" (that's what he calls Frosted Flakes) or cookies but he chose a real meal! I was actually pretty proud.
Here's hoping tomorrow will be a little better than today...and that Chris gets off work early...
--And my sister had ACL surgery today---WE LOVE YOU BECKY!

Nathan looks like such a sweet little boy in this picture. The dinner definitely wins on bright colors we're always told to eat.
