What we do for free food

For the past few years we've made it our mission to never pass up free Chick Fil A, so when their annual dress like a cow day came around again you better believe we were all over that.  Because Chris and I had a date planned for that evening (Wicked!) we went for lunch instead of dinner- poor Chris was pretty bummed he wasn't going to make it this year.
So I made some spots, ears, noses, got the kids and myself all dressed up and off we went.  We pulled up and there was no one dressed up.  I proudly walked my kids up to the counter looking like a fool with my spots, nose, and ears and got ourselves a whole bunch of free food. We never go out to eat for lunch (seriously, this is officially the 2nd time I've ever bought them lunch by myself- I'm way too cheap) so it was a fun treat.  I wanted to get s super adorable picture of all 3 of them but by the time we sat down they'd already pulled off most of their spots and just wanted to eat, not take pictures...lame.

Eventually more people came dressed up and I didn't look like a complete idiot- but for almost $20 in free food it was totally worth it. The cow even made an appearance- Nathan finally got the courage to say hi but Abby hates anything in a costume so she flipped out.  Elise didn't know what to think of it, until she looked at Abby and realized she should cry- so there I was with two screaming kids, one child running around the restaurant chasing the cow, all while I'm dressed up like a cow- I'm sure I looked like mom of the year! Oh well- once the cow left it was all good. Can't wait till next year!
