But, all joking aside, 24 was a really great year for our family. Hopefully 25 will be even better!
My birthday started off pretty normal. Chris left for surgery at 6:30 and I took the kids to a doctor's appointment at 9 (we were in an out in 2 hours! Hallelujah!). We had a blast with the balloons Chris blew up early that morning (Nathan thought it was his birthday, so Chris was the nicest dad ever blowing up the balloons at 6:00 am!) I put the kids down for a nap, realized I didn't have all the ingredients for my dessert, so I made another one...only to find out as I need to add the last ingredient that I didn't have enough, thankfully a wonderful friend saved the day (and the cake!). I also got dinner all ready during nap too- so productive! Then Chris surprised us by coming home early! The surgeon he's with sent him home- what a great birthday present!
We did a little grocery shopping (you moms know it's so wonderful to have another set of hands at the store!) and came home, had dinner and dessert and then played till bedtime.

Then, last night just before we fell asleep (at 9:30! dang we are old!) Chris surprised me one more time- the doctor wasn't having him come in till 1:30 today! So his present to me was to do anything I wanted this morning...he was my slave :) So while it sounds pretty lame, I choose to clean and organize the whole kitchen and pantry area this morning. Seriously. . .happy birthday Sarah- let's clean. . .but it really is the best present ever. I have been putting off organizing and cleaning, after the whole bed bug situation our pantry was so disheveled, I couldn't find anything- it was so frustrating! But now everything is organized, clean, all the cupboards are wiped out and everything has a place.
It is fabulous.
The other great gift we got was some piece of mind- turns out there was some problem with the paperwork for our new car, and if it didn't get fixed between the bank and the car dealership we'd possibly have to give the car back..AGH! Last night we got word that they had straightened it out.
I never thought I'd get a car for my birthday :)

Happy Birthday Sarah!! i wish I could have taken you out to lunch and we could have tried to ignore our kids while eating some lunch we didn't have to make!! I miss you like crazy! Hope had a great day!
