Yesterday in Church someone brought up the idea of the 5 love languages but got some of the facts about it wrong, Chris thought it was really funny so last night after the kids were asleep he told me the story, then we thought it would be funny to do a little test online to find our love language.
Here are our scores...
(the highest score is 12 points)
Sarah Chris
Words of Affirmation- 5 Words of Affirmation- 11
Quality Time- 7 Quality Time- 8
Receiving Gifts- 2 Receiving Gifts- 1
Acts of Service- 10 Acts of Service- 3
Physical Touch- 6 Physical Touch-8
As clearly shown by my birthday day gift, Acts of Service totally fits me...Chris thinks it's the most high maintainance of all the love languages :) Chris still laughs at me because years ago, a few months after we were married, we were super busy with school and both of us were working crazy hours- we hardly saw each other. We would be at class by 8:30 am, and he would get home from work 30 minutes after I left for work, so we wouldn't see each other till after 10:30 pm or later everyday. Anyways, I came home late one night exhausted, and I opened the door and Chris had cleaned the entire apartment. and no joke, I cried.
Chris is totally fits Words of Affirmation. I was just making fun of him a few days ago for keeping messages on his phone from me and Nathan for over a year...he likes to go back and listen to them randomly. He loves getting notes and phone calls and talking through problems- and he now understands why I would get so mad when he wouldn't hear the kids crying at night...because if he really loved me he would wake up...right? :)
It's a good thing we both scored so low on receiving gifts, our budget just can't handle that kind of love...but if anyone wants to send us stuff I promise we'll love you :)
It was a fun little test..and while not life changing it sparked a funny conversation and brought back some great memories!

It is good to remember sometimes how different people express love. Thanks for the reminder. Your birthday sounds fabulous! I am glad it was so great. Thanks also for the help with the blog button!
You've inspired me to go take this test too. It never hurts to understand each other better, does it?
