A dino-mite day at the Zoo!

On Monday we headed to the zoo- the kids were both excited (yes- Abby does know what the zoo is and loves it.  Nathan thinks it's heaven on earth.)

Our first stop was to see the dinosaurs again! Nathan's fascination with dinosaurs has only grown since our last time there and this time Abby wasn't scared! It was a lot of fun talking with Nathan about herbivores and carnivores and trying to say the names of all the different dinosaurs. Abby has the cutest little dinosaur walk and roar- I love it! She also now pretends to eat like a dinosaur (if you put food in your hand and say "be a dinosaur!" she roars and eats the food straight out of your hand)
Nathan is now obsessed with dinosaurs and pretends to be a Tyrannosaurus Rex (the way he says it is sooo cute!) all the time.  He also loves the Brachiosaurus now and tries to fly like a pterodactyl.

So excited for the dinosaurs!

pretending to eat plants like a herbivore :)

Nathan doing his dinosaur walk and roar...

Abby was adorable- she kept walking like a dinosaur, roaring, then saying and waving bye-bye to each one.

these dinosaurs sprayed you with water...funny to watch the kids get wet when they didn't expect it!

After the dinos we went and saw all the other animals.  The kids had a lot of fun and I enjoyed going with another mom- much more fun than going by myself for sure!

This is Abby a mere half second before she almost fell into the flamingo exhibit...crazy kid....

In the pygmy hut

The chimps were super social that day, which freaked out Abby a bit but Nathan loved being nose to nose with them!

Proof I was there!

Our last stop was the sea lions- they are Nathan's favorite.  He was so worried the whole time we wouldn't see them! and do they look sweaty to you?:)

I think both Nathan and Abby would agree it was a great trip!
