At 18 Months

I can't believe that Abby is 18 months old today- time has flown by so fast!  It's crazy we'll be bringing home a new baby in just a few days when I feel it was just a few months ago we were bringing our sweet Abby home.


At 18 months Abby:
-Thinks she's a 3 year old boy. She loves playing with Nathan and all his friends and always tries to do everything they do.

-Loves Nathan more than anyone.  She imitates everything he does- she wants to be just like him. Thankfully he is a great big brother and loves her too.  There is not much that makes me more happy than to watch and listen to these two laughing and playing together.

-Loves people.  She will say hi to everyone we come across.  It makes going shopping fun because she puts a smile on everyone's faces.

-Is super independent.  She loves doing things on her own but is still super sweet and loves to cuddle. I cherish those moments with her when she curls up and snuggles her head on my shoulder.

-Loves to get dress and undressed.  Multiple times a day I find her in her room putting on new clothes.  She is really skilled- she can put on her own shirt, but still struggles to get her shorts on by herself- she almost always sticks both legs through the same hole.

-Loves babies! We point out babies where ever we go, she gets concerned when a car seat is empty and she can't find the baby that goes inside.  She loves to help and will always try to find the baby's pacifier and put it back in.

-Is fearless.  She will climb any playground equipment, go down any slide, intensely wrestle with anyone, and basically do anything. Huge falls and spills that would send any other kid into hysterical crying is no big deal for her (unless she's tired or hungry!) The only thing she's scared of is dogs.  She absolutely loves them from a distance but once they get near her she is completely and utterly terrified.

-Is a great dancer and singer.  She loves to dance to any music and always tries to sing along with any songs we sing.  Her favorite song is "Popcorn Popping"- she's getting really good and the motions!

-Loves to talk.  I can't even imagine writing down all the words she knows, there are just too many I don't know where to begin.

-Still has a obsession with shoes.  She is getting really good and getting her own shoes on and off.  She loves taking anyone's shoes and putting them on as well.  (As I write this she's running around wearing Nathan's Sunday shoes...) 

-Loves to say her own name- it's so adorable to have her running around yelling "Abba!"

-Loves to be helpful.  She likes to clean up her toys, help me cook, do laundry (she helps sort, puts the clothes in the dryer, and like to put the away), sweep, and wipe down the table.  I love when I'm cleaning and she is my little shadow.

She is amazing and I can't get enough of her infectious smile.  She is really such a happy girl- we are so blessed to have her in our family!
