Preschool is back!

Nathan was so excited to start preschool again with a new group of friends this year.  Our first day was last Thursday and I got to teach his little class.  We did a review of all the letters and had fun!

We read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (one of our favorite books!) and made a tree just like in the book.

We also watched the Leap Frog "Letter Factory" Video and the kids practiced the sounds the letters make.  (Can you tell they liked the movie as they were all soooo intensely focused!)

We had some ABC snacks (apples, bananas, and carrots)

Then we practiced tracing the letters and each kid practiced writing their own name.

For preschool last year a put a whole bunch of uncooked elbow noodles in a big storage container and hid letters inside, so we pulled that our again and practiced our letters one more time.  It was so funny how both boys went at it- they were definitely not shy about the digging while the girls were much more dainty and calm. After teaching all boys last year teaching calm, sweet little girls will be so different!

We ended by doing one of Nathan's favorite activities- ABC Freeze Dance (freeze dancing to a cd full of songs about the alphabet.) Little kid dancing is so hilarious!

Yeah for preschool! We're excited for another fun year!
