Air Show Pros and Cons

Last Saturday we went to the Houston Air Show- Chris had never been to one before and was in heaven.  Nathan still can't stop talking about the airplanes and helicopters.
We love watching Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and once a week he does a Pros/Cons list...so here's our version...

PRO:
-Nathan got to go inside an helicopter with Chris

CON:
-Pretty sure those windows haven't been cleaned in a long time...

PRO
-Nathan got to "drive" the airplane and "push buttons with Daddy!"

CON:
-He started to cry the second he sat in the pilot's seat

PRO:
We finally figured out the reason our double stroller was so hard to turn was because the front wheels were locked...duh
CON:
Nathan still didn't want to sit in it.

PRO:
-We got to see some really cool airplanes

CON:
-No air conditioning and tons of people in a small plane = body odor

PRO:
-The fighter jet was super cool- it was loud, fast, and exciting

CON:

-We didn't know it was coming...it caught us (and the kids!) a bit off guard.  Next time we'll bring ear protection for the kids and listen to the announcer.  Nathan spent the next 30 minutes with his face buried in my chest with his blanket around his head and my hands covering his ears, all while crying and screaming "I scared! I scared!"


PRO:
We saw a cool Pearl Harbor reenactment

CON:
The anti aircraft fire (explosions on the ground) were a wee bit too similar to a plane crashing (like in Reno last month...)  And Nathan was cheering for the Japanese Planes...

PRO:
Our kids slept!

CON:
We're at an Air Show- it's loud.  We're also right next to the Air Force's new Super Car (an air plane engine inside a car right next to us and they kept firing up the engine every 15 minutes...super loud!)

PRO:
The Canadian Airborne Mounties (not their real name...) were really cool (for Canadians). They were really really good.

CON:
They were the last group...It was a long day.

PRO:
We remembered to bring sun screen
CON:
Chris missed applying it to the tops of his knees and got a nice sunburn.

PRO:
We had a fun time together as a family.

CON:
It's a long day with kids, but worth it!
