Halloween Party #1

Friday was the big Halloween Party at the YMCA- we hadn't been before so I was excited to go.  It was an absolute crazy day and I finished the kids' costumes with about 30 minutes to spare (phew!) and avoided a costume disaster with a last minute run to the store---thank you Kohls for opening up a store so close to us just in time!

Nathan loved the bouncy house even though some of the bigger kids were totally pushing him over.  He definitely didn't want to leave.

He loved getting candy, but struggled saying "Trick or Treat" loud enough- though he had no problem saying it all day long when he was trying to get candy from us...

We played some of the games
decorated a pumpkin, saw a bunch of friends and even made some new ones while standing in line.

The highlight of the night was the camel ride (why they have a camel at a Halloween party I do not know...but they have one every year!) Chris took both kids and Nathan is already looking forward to riding the camel again.
can you tell he was excited?

My favorite part of the night was when we got Nathan all dressed and he looked in the mirror- he had the biggest smile and his eyes lit up when he realized that he was Mickey- it was adorable.  Seeing him so happy made the craziness of making the costumes completely worth it.  Abby was the cutest little Minnie Mouse ever...I wonder how much longer I can get them to dress up together?

Excellent post. I miss you, Chris. That picture of you and your kids on the camel is classic Hawks gold.

Based on your kids' costumes, you need to come to Orange County, CA soon. We've got plenty of places you could stay (with family), so just holler at your dog.

Brilliant idea for the costumes.
