Nathan and Abby loved checking out the big cows
and the just-born-this-morning baby pigs and sheep
Nathan milked a cow
While a mere half second after this picture was taken Abby sprinted to the cow and attempted to climb on the cow- which the volunteer did not appreciate.
We saw some baby chicks hatch
and Nathan said "aww"
then we looked at the mom chickens...they really wanted Nathan's goldfish.
Next we hit up the petting zoo. This time it was a big hit with both kids. Nathan and Abby both didn't want to leave so we stayed for a really long time.
Then we went to the "farm" where they...
fed a "chicken" some corn
milked a cow
planted a pepper
and did some other things like collect some wool, pick some peaches, play in a big pit of corn and other things I've already forgotten.
Then came the tractors. We were in between 2 really large groups so the group behind us moved slow allowing Nathan about 5 minutes to sit inside the tractor and "drive". I believe it was one of the best experiences of his life so far. Pure ecstasy for that kid.
Then came the best part. The kids learn that farms work because the farmers sell their goods to a store and get money. So the kids put all their stuff back into the right bins then got some "money" to go buy a treat. The kind, gracious, generous man let Nathan take about 5 treats (you're only supposed to get 1) so Nathan was pretty pleased with the whole experience.
Our last stop was the pig races. I didn't think both would love it as much as they did but apparently it was so awesome both kids cried when it was over.
After lunch we headed home. It was a little crowded because it was the value day but it was worth it! And don't worry...we went one more time...this is really the never ending rodeo!
