Rodeo #4- One Last Time

We had great plans to go to the rodeo last Saturday-
then the heavens opened and it poured down rain much of the day...along with the lightning we determined our fun, full day of rodeo-ing probably shouldn't happen.
I was crushed.

The whole reason for going again was because Chris hadn't really done any rodeo stuff, just shown up after work in time to see the concerts. So we made a plan- he would leave work a bit early on Wednesday (his only day during the week that he's usually done before 6...which only meant he had to go in early Thursday..lame).  Unfortunately not only was it a value day (super packed with everyone trying to get their kids in for free) it was also spring break for the entire Houston Metropolitan area...crazy!!! So it was a wee bit busy, but we still had fun. We checked out some animals waiting for Chris...then the fun got started!

We ate some delicious dinner

Checked out the horticulture garden (I should say the rocks at the horticulture garden...) while Chris saved us seats for...

The pig races!

The kids rode horses (Abby's first time!).  The anticipation was almost more than either of them could handle.

And went on the Ferris Wheel!

The poor man taking our tickets was convinced that Abby was too small to go- we disagreed.
We won.

We had a great time together (see my face) as a family doing some of the things we've been promising Nathan we'd do the whole time.  Poor kid has been tempted by the Ferris Wheel every time we've driven by.

Can't wait till next year!
