I don't do corned beef and cabbage

I'm not going to lie- St. Patrick's Day isn't my favorite holiday.  For some reason it just doesn't pull me in like other holidays do.  Could it be because I find the traditional food disgusting? Or I have a hard time explaining leprechauns to my kids? Oh well- we still celebrated the day in our own way.

We woke up to green milk and Lucky Charms.  The kids were in heaven, especially when I packed some Lucky Charms in the bag to eat during church- I'm an awesome mom sometimes.

We all wore some green, wish I had gotten a picture of my cute kids post bath-time (notice Nathan covering up for the picture- he's adorable sometimes)

Dinner was a bit non traditional- Chris loves corned beef and cabbage, but too bad for him since I do the shopping and meal planning :) Instead we had a "green" themed dinner. Green noodles, green alfredo sauce (kind of wierd), green jello jigglers, chicken (no- the chicken was not green, that seemed too gross) roasted asparagus, and broccoli...now that's my kind of St Patty's Day dinner.  No nasty corned beef in sight, but I will get some for Chris tomorrow when it goes on sale...I am a pretty nice wife sometimes to suffer through one meal of that for him
And with so much green food coloring on that plate and Abby's talent of getting as messy as humanly possible while eating we opted for the clothing free dining experience for her.

and Elise was there too :) poor girl, I always feel like she gets neglected on this blog...

The food we were all excited for was dessert- a brownie  topped with mint ice cream, peppermint ganache, oreos, and whipped cream.  Perfect way to end the day...

...until it got even more perfect when we had a bit of a dance party before the kids went to bed- Party in the USA, Friday, and Shake Your Booty- we like to keep it real classy in the Hawks House. Happy St. Patty's Day!
