Not cool doc- way to freak me out.
Today I went in for my 37 week check up (we're full term on Sunday!!!!) and found out the baby is now breech. In the past week she's turned around and is now feet down which means that if I went into labor right now we'd be having a c-section. We talked about some options and scenarios and (to make a long story short) if she doesn't turn around by my appointment (and I haven't gone into labor) on the 3rd we're scheduling a c-section for the 7th (which, by the way, I REALLY don't want).
There is definitely still a possibility that our little girl will turn around, so a c-section isn't a guarantee, it's just a very high possibility now- which is kinda lame because I honestly had a good/fast labor with Nathan...once I got the epidural :) The good news is that the baby still looks like she will be cooking for a while. The doctor checked today and I'm not dilated/effaced at all- so that gives our little girl a bigger chance of turning around on her own.
Other than that, here's a stunning picture of me at 36 1/2 weeks, I know- I look good :)
Thanks for humoring me
I'm pretty much uncomfortable most of the time, but I've still been able to go to the gym everyday and I'm feeling good. It's starting to set in that we're having another baby really soon and I'm finally getting around to all the projects I should have done months ago. The kid's room is almost ready, just a few more things left. We only a few more things to buy and then we're all set! I've already registered at the hospital and making a list of things we need to bring. We can't wait for my mom to get here on the 8th (hopefully no baby by then!) and have some time to hang out before our little girl comes.
Nathan is getting ready for the baby too- he's having fun playing with the baby's bed and the the pack n play. He's referring to himself as the big boy and knows where the baby is. I can't wait to see him as a big brother (I must admit I"m still a little scared he'll step on her, shove stuff down her throat, hit her, be super jealous, not sleep with her waking up...list goes on and on...) but when I see him with little babies he is really gentle and sweet- so I hope that continues with our little girl.
So we're hoping and praying that she'll turn around and stay put so we don't have to have a c-section. We're glad that, besides this surprise, everything else is good. She is looking really healthy and strong, so even though this curve ball is not wanted we are glad that there is nothing really wrong with our baby. We're excited to see her, however she gets here, in about 3 weeks!

Oh, I am sorry shes breech! I know the stress of that. Both Jackson and Kenadi were breech at 37 weeks. Kenadi ended up turning on her own at about 38 weeks, Jackson I had turned by having an external version done. Did your doctor offer that to you? I know that there are TONS of horror stories about them, but for me it wasn't bad at all. Good luck! hopefully she'll turn on her own!
We'll pray for you! And you look awesome in that purple shirt!
Hi Sarah, didn't realize you had a blog! You look lovely all pregnant! good luck!
I sure do hope that she turns around for you. I have had two c-sections, so if you have any questions let me know. Hopefully you won't have to ask any and she will just do a spin in the right direction.
You really DO look great! Seriously. I will be praying for you and for your little girl that she turns. Love you!
You look fabulous! Sorry about the breech. I hope she turns for you. If you need anything, let me know!
Hey Sarah--found your blog through Jillian's.
I've learned some tricks for getting a baby to turn while training to teach HypnoBirthing--I'll try to talk/email you soon. In the meantime, check spinningbabies.com and keep your positive attitude that she'll turn. That website has lots of great tips for encouraging babes to get in a better position.
