Chris's Day Off

We try to take advantage of any day that Chris has off during this rotation- so yesterday we lived it up and partied all day :)  Chris started the morning by going to basketball and I started with a nap (8 am is a perfectly acceptable nap time right?)- good thing Nathan is sometimes good at playing on his own!
When Chris came home we headed to Hobby Lobby and got one roll of ribbon to finish my Valentines project- (almost done!) and Nathan got run over by a lady who worked there and her full shopping cart- tragic really.  He was wearing new sandals that he isn't totally comfortable running in yet (they're like flip flops with a strap around the heel but I think he's weirded out by the piece between the toes) and he fell down and the lady didn't see him and just went right over him.  Poor little kid.
We then headed to Costco- because nothing says fun like Costco! (No really- we love it- and we made sure we went at the right time for all the samples! We spent forever there and then realized right as we were about to check out, that almost everything we got we had coupons for...but they don't start till Wednesday! I had gotten the coupon books confused.  That was a little frustrating- we had two carts worth of stuff- I mean hello...diapers were on sale and goodness knows we need those! Good thing Chris noticed before we got up to the register, that would have been way embarrassing. We finished our two hour Costco trip with a polish dog (I'm not a big fan- Chris goes way heavy on the onions- eww- but Nathan loved it- and they're kosher so no milk :) we like Costco).
We came home and put Nathan down for a nap (it was 2:30, way past nap time) but guess who didn't want to sleep? So after 45 minutes of listening to Nathan whine we went to the park and played for a long time. I was afraid we would be rained on but thankfully it never did.  Here's some c.u.t.e pictures of Nathan from our little trip- he's so adorable.
It was great weather- shorts, t-shirt, and sandals.  January is a great month

he's loving the slides now- it's weird to think it was only a few months again he hated them!

I just love the faces he makes!

He also spent about 30 minutes or more on the swings.  He just kept saying "more" and "fast".  I've never seen him love the swings so much!
After dinner we put Nathan to bed and I almost finished my Valentines project and Chris finished stuffing all 800 envelopes for his Master's Project Survey (yep- all that's left is to seal all 800 envelopes! Every one is filled up with all the folded papers and folded return envelopes now! We're almost done!)
It really is wonderful to spend the day with Chris- Nathan is so much happier when Chris is home- I forget how much he misses his Dad.

what a fun day! I love the sandals, are they from Carter's? I just got some for Avery and she feels the same way about them!
