Nathan is growing up way too fast. I don't know if it can be blamed on pregnancy hormones, but I've been pretty emotional lately seeing how much Nathan is growing and learning. It seems everyday he's learned new words, does something we've never seen before, and is just becoming a "big boy".
Some of his new things are...
Sleeping in a "big boy" bed! On Sunday we made the big switch thinking that it would take a while to get him adjusted before the baby come...turns out he was completely ready! He know points to the crib and says "baby"...he knows it's not his anymore. Monday morning was a little bit of a shocker. Chris and I were downstairs getting ready for him to go to work and I thought I heard a noise upstairs, so I go to check on Nathan- as I turned the corner to go upstairs there was Nathan a few steps up! He loves that he can get out of bed and open the door! After a few days of him getting out of bed he's now decided that he shouldn't get out of bed on his own and waits for me or Chris to come get him. What a cutie!
He is speaking if full sentences now! It's so weird to hear him say things in sentences- it sounds so grown up! A few days ago he was having a really hard time, I was getting frustrated with him and through his tears he said, "I want Daddy." And he just repeated that over and over. Maybe someday he'll say I want Mommy... He says a lot of things now so it's pretty fun to see what he'll say next.
He has gotten so smart. He knows the sounds of some of his letters and thing morning pointed out some of the letters to me.
We're still working on our colors, his first response is that everything is blue or brown, but after a reminder he is able to get his colors down really well.
He can sing along with, and do the actions for: Popcorn Popping, Once there was a Snowman, If you're happy and you know it, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, and more...I just can't think of them right now.
At Church on Sunday Chris and I looked through the little window into nursery and saw all the kids in their seats for their singing time. They were singing Popcorn Popping and all the other kids were just sitting, squirming in there seats and there was Nathan singing along doing the motions...it melted my heart...
He's been helping me pick out his clothes lately. I'll give him few options and he tells me which shirt/pants wants to wear. He also has a fascination with shoes, socks, and jackets and makes sure we each have them on before we head out the door.
He loves to wash his hands. After he eats he wants to "washy washy" (Bishop family---remember on the cruise before meals they would have us sanitize our hands and say "washy washy happy happy"?) Nathan has taken that phrase to heart and now loves say "washy" after meals.
He has become a movie fanatic.I mostly blame this on myself..I need to be a better mom...but it is really cute how much he loves some movies. He is finally fading away from 101 Dalmatians and Jungle Book and is now focused on Toy Story 1 and 2, and Cars. He loves them. He got a Buzz action toy for Christmas and yesterday he asked "Where's Woody." When I told he we don't have Woody he started to cry and kept saying "I want Woody."
He got a set of train tracks for Christmas and can set them up all on his own. He loves playing "choo choo."
He has learned how to open our front door- we have now invested in the child safety door handles...it was a shock when we found him outside waiting for us.
He's getting in such a fun yet challenging age. It is fun to see him learn and grow, yet sad to see our little baby growing up. We sure do love our little guy.
