We were going to try and see the movie while we were on vacation, but because we're cheap we didn't want to spend $11 per person at the movie theaters near my parent's house when it was $9 here. Then we found out about a great place where movies are $4, and $2.50 for a matinee! (thanks Kim for the suggestion!) It was about 25 minutes away but totally worth the extra time, especially since kids 2 and younger are free, so we paid $5 for our whole family.
So Chris and Nathan headed to the store and picked out some of their favorite snacks and we popped a bag of popcorn and headed out (remember I said we're cheap!)
Nathan and Abby did pretty well in their first movie theater experience. Abby cried a little bit but then fell asleep. Nathan was quiet but wanted to move around, so thankfully the theater wasn't full so he could choose multiple seats. His favorite seat was right in the first row- Chris was a good sport to go with him that close :)
We enjoyed the movie, but liked the first one better. I think he had a lot of fun. He was talking about how excited he was the whole day, so it was fun to take him. Our conversation on the way down went something like this:
Me: Nathan are you excited?
Nathan: Yeah! Daddy excited. Mommy excited too!

We probably won't be taking him to see a lot of movies since he's struggling with the whole "sit in one seat for two hours" thing, but it was a fun night as a family.
