The time had finally come to get ourselves a second car. After a very fruitless (and scary) criagslist search for a car to last us a few months for Chris's Community Medicine rotation we decided to take the money and put it towards getting a car that will last us a whole lot longer. It has consumed our lives the past little while, but it was worth it! We ended up buying the first car we looked at, albeit many days and a whole bunch of cars later. We did our homework, felt really prepared, said a bunch of prayers and we feel like this was the right decision for us right now- we are so excited!
The car is perfect for us. It's a 2003 Honda Odyssey EX-L with low miles, leather seats, and power doors. I am in love with the power doors- I'm pretty positive this will change my life.
I am so glad we were able to make this car a reality. I am not one of those moms who can stay at home all day. I can do it occasionally but more than 2 days in a row and Nathan and I both start to get a bit stir-crazy. I just can't imagine months of being home every day; poor Chris would have a pretty nasty wife to come home to! And I'm glad we will have a car that not only fits us, but will be a car we won't outgrow (no announcement, just planning ahead- we may be crazy, but we're definitely not that crazy) quickly either. We have room to fit anyone who comes to visit (hint hint...we need more visitors!), or a trip to Ikea (so frustrating to go and not be able to take anything home), or to a garage sale...oh the possibilities are endless!

I love the mom jeans!! and yes the good ole minivan too! I do have to say that I feel partly responsible for talking you into it...all those fun car rides together!! Now the only question is, how long until you install the DVD player?
That video was funny! I'll have to show it to my mom since she wore 'mom jeans' exactly like that for like 25 years before she realized her mistake. Congrats on the van...it will change your life!

My dream is your reality! Yay for you guys! One of our cars just went in today for and it is going to need a ton of repairs and Ryan and I were talking about just using the money towards a new car, so maybe we'll join you soon in the Owners of a Van club, we'll see. Congrats and I love that video!
