Good news from the Doctor

We went to one more doctor's appointment today for Nathan- this one with his gastroenterologist- and the news was wonderful.  He got some blood tests back that Nathan did a while ago looking for a specific marker for IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) and guess what...it wasn't there.  This means he doesn't have chronic IBD (a life long problem that could effect almost every aspect of his life) but most likely has some type developmental IBD, which means he will grow out of it on his own. We're still staying on some IBD medicine that has really helped, and we go back in November to assess how well it's working and how much longer we need to continue it. If things aren't going great by then we have some bigger procedures we'll do, but we're hoping everything will be stable by then.

I know Heavenly Father has heard and answered our prayers for Nathan (thank you to all our family members who have prayed, put his name in the temple, fasted...we can not thank you enough). Throughout this whole process he has stayed healthy, gained weight and developed mentally and physically like a average kid, which is not common for kids with IBD. We are so excited that Nathan is getting better and he won't have so many problems down the road. We have been so blessed to be near so many great doctors who have helped him and haven't given up when his symptoms didn't fit a typical case of anything.  We can't wait to be back to "normal" soon!

So glad to hear the good news. I hope and pray and things continue to improve and that you continue to get answers. He sure is a sweet little guy.
