5

I can't believe it but on Saturday we celebrated our 5th Anniversary!
We spent the morning going to a cute little cafe as a family and getting breakfast then heading to a nearby park to play.  It was a wonderful morning together.

After a quick trip to Ikea (then Chris going back to return and by a different item) we got a kitchen cart! We have officially increased our counter top space by about 500 %.  If that was all we had done all day it would have been the best anniversary ever.
We then headed out on our fabulous date- Chris surprised me with a new pair of earrings to wear to dinner, and I surprised Chris by taking him to The Galleria to go to The Cheesecake Factory (which he totally guessed on our way there!) And his present was any pair of sunglasses he wanted.  He's never had a pair of nice glasses so we walked around the mall after dinner and he found a great pair of sunglasses.

When we got home I opened my gift- a shopping spree! Chris makes fun of m because I'm a bit too cheap when it comes to buying myself new things.  In our marriage I have bought a grand total of 5 shirts and a pair of pants- if it wasn't for my parents I'd look completely homeless.  He's always encouraging me to just get some new clothes but I never do, so this guilt free shopping will be so fun!

We then watched our wedding video- we were so incredibly young!- and talked about the past 5 years.  We've determined that life has been a bit too crazy- here's our marriage by the numbers:
-2 weeks of dating till we decided to get married, 2 more months till I got the ring, 3 months being engaged, almost 2 day honeymoon
-5 years of marriage
-3 children
-5 different homes
-3 Wards, 9 callings
-1 year of teaching for less than minimum wage
-3 college degrees (2 bachelors, 1 masters)
-1 bed bug infestation with 4 treatments
-5 cars
-50 months pregnant or nursing
-13 jobs
-0 true vacations
-1 flooded garage
-1 apartment without an a/c or dishwasher
-5 days between one child entering nursery and another being born
-48 months of school (Chris) with only one 1 1/2 month break and three 2 week breaks, plus a few 3 day weekends
-Too many hugs, kisses, and I Love You's to ever possibly count.

It's definitely been an eventful 5 years but I wouldn't want to have gone through all of this with anyone else! While so many things have happened and our lives have changed so much we are happier and more in love then ever- we are so grateful that we can spend eternity together.
