The Monday night before Halloween I really wanted to do something fun with the kids. I decided (a bit too last minute) to make a fun (ghetto, lame) dinner.
We had:
mummy hot dogs
carrots with dip inside a pumpkin
and "candy corn" pizza (definitely didn't turn out like the picture online)
The kids weren't that impressed...maybe I'll do better next year on the creative and spooky dinner.
For Family Home Evening we cleaned out our pumpkins.
Abby was much more into it than Nathan, but they both had fun.
Unfortunately cleaning and carving pumpkins really isn't that interesting for my kids- it takes way to long, and requires patients and sharp knifes, so we opted to actually carved them on Halloween.
When we were done we ate some monster treats. Once again the kids were not as impressed as I thought they'd be...oh well, I thought they were cool.
Maybe next year our dinner/pumpkin carving will not be so ghetto and lame...

Sarah, not lame at all. And no offense to you kids - but THEY are lame if they don't realize how awesome those treats are!
I'm sure they'll come to appreciate your festive efforts more as they get older. Whether or not they do, though - I hope you know that you did a bang up job. Rock on lady!
